PROF BANJI AKINTOYE WAS EXPELLED FROM NINAS IN NOVEMBER 2021
(Being a Disclaimer and Caveat by NINAS Secretariat For the Attention of the General Public and Tribune Newspaper in Particular).

The Attention of NINAS Secretariat has been drawn to a story in Tribune Newspaper, published June 25, 2023, where Prof Banji Akintoye who was expelled from NINAS since November 2021 was reported as hailing the knee-jerk actions of the Stop-Gap President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, since the May 29, 2023 Inauguration amidst an Inconclusive 2023 Presidential Election of Nigeria.

As a general response to enquiries from members of the public, NINAS Secretariat wishes to state as follows:

  1. It will be recalled that Prof Banji Akintoye was expelled from NINAS in November 2021 when he deliberately crafted and circulated Heinous Lies about Yemi Osinbajo giving N350m to his (Akintoye’s) Deputy in Illana Omo Oodua for some kind of partisan political activity in circumstances that created the impression that NINAS was clandestinely involved in partisan political shenanigans.

(Here is the link to the NINAS Press Statement of December 1, 2021 addressing the exit of Prof Banji Akintoye from NINAS: https://www.ninasvoice.org/press-statement-ninas-alliance-is-intact-and-focused-on-its-stated-mission-despite-the-resignation-of-its-erstwhile-chairman-prof-banji-akintoye-and-the-exit-of-his-faction-of-ilana-omo-oodua)

Here also is the link to an April 22, 2022 NINAS Broadcast titled: “Falsehoods: What Then Changed?” addressing the false claims of Prof Akintoye about finding another route to Yoruba Liberation outside the Clear NINAS Pathway, HERE: https://youtu.be/Re_AQHhWgYo.

  2. In the fullness of time, the very malfeasance that led to the expulsion of Prof Banji Akintoye from NINAS in 2021, namely, Akintoye’s failed attempt to derail the Self-Determination Campaign of NINAS from within and towards partisan politics, have become manifest and Self-Evident, looking at the partisan actions and pronouncements of Prof Akintoye since his expulsion from NINAS in November 2021.

  3. This present interview conducted by one Dare Adekanmbi and published by Tribune Newspaper, in which Prof Banji Akintoye was disingenuously presented as “Chairman of NINAS”, is a patently dishonest attempt at hoodwinking the general public into thinking that Prof Banji Akintoye is still in NINAS since it is public knowledge that the brief connection Prof Banji Akintoye had (2019-2021) with NINAS ceased effectively since his expulsion from NINAS in November 2021.

  4. For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known that Prof Banji Akintoye is not in any way associated or involved with NINAS since his November 2021 Expulsion from NINAS.

Let it also be known that NINAS on the 12th of June 2023, formally declared as Inconclusive, the 2023 Presidential Election of Nigeria and therefore as an INTERREGNUM, the entire period from May 29, 2023 Inauguration to the date when the Inconclusive Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential Election is finally resolved at the Appellate Courts, including if a Fresh Presidential Election is ordered, be it for a Runoff or a Rerun.

Here is the Link to the June 13, 2023 Guardian Newspaper Report of the NINAS Interregnum Declaration, HERE: https://guardian.ng/news/ninas-faults-presidential-inauguration-terms-poll-inconclusive/.

Here also is the link to both the Full Text of the NINAS June 12, 2023 Interregnum Declaration and the NINAS Broadcast on the subject, HERE: https://ninasmovementnews.substack.com/p/ninas-status-update-on-implementation.

  5. From the foregoing, it should be clear to all that NINAS is unwaveringly focused on its Union Reconfiguration Campaign and not at all interested in the outcome of February 25, 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria nor in the current Stop-Gap Presidency of Nigeria.

It should therefore be clear to all that Prof Banji Akintoye did not speak from the fold of NINAS in the aforementioned hailing of the actions of the Stop-Gap President.
