ALL AMENDMENTS TO THE 1999 CONSTITUTION WILL GO DOWN WITH THAT CONSTITUTION: A NOTE OF CAUTION TO THE LEGISLATIVE CONCLAVE AT THE REFUGE CAMP OF REGIONAL RENEGADES – NINAS Secretariat, March 1, 2022.
(1) In the face of the Union Dispute Declared December 16, 2020 by the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS) on account of Long-Standing Grave Constitutional Grievances emanating from the Caliphate-Imposed Unitary Constitution of Nigeria (1999), the participation of the Members of the Nigerian National Assembly from the Alliance Territories of the South and Middle-Belt in the ongoing “Constitution-Amendment Exercise of 2022 is tantamount to an affront and a defiance of the Sovereignty Will of their People who have Repudiated the Fraudulent 1999 Constitution as the Basis of the Nigerian Union.
(2) Let it be recalled that by a Public Statement of February 25, 2022, titled:
“NO QUANTUM OF AMENDMENTS WILL SAVE THE 1999 CONSTITUTION FROM GOING DOWN WHOLESALE NOR CAN AMENDMENTS CONFER LEGITIMACY ON THAT FRAUD OF 1999”,
NINAS had dismissed the 2022 round of Constitution-Amendment charade of the National Assembly as an exercise in futility and a Treasonous Affront on the People, being done in usurpation of the Sovereignty of the People.
(Here is the link to the said NINAS Public Statement of February 25, 2022 – https://ninasmovementnews.substack.com/p/ninas-press-statement-relating-to?utm_source=url)
(3) That February 25, 2022 NINAS Public Statement was to remind the errant Legislators in clear terms, that the contention of their Constituents and encapsulated in the December 16, 2020 Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation is that the Peoples of Nigeria have not AGREED UPON nor MADE any Union Constitution contrary to the False Claims in the Preamble of the 1999 Constitution.
(4) For the sake of clarity and emphasis, it is the contention of NINAS that the refusal of the Operators of the Disputed Nigerian State to first engage this Incurable Fundamental Flaw is now being compounded by the so-called Amendments to the 1999 Constitution since the Legislative Mandate of the National Assembly is limited to Law-Making and does not extend to Constitution-Making which required Constituent Powers that reside exclusively with the People as an incident of their Sovereignty. It is in this sense that NINAS views the Amendments Exercise as an Arrogant Affront to the People, an Assault of the Sovereignty of the People and such a dangerous Defiance of the Sovereign Will of the People capable of triggering unpleasant consequences from their own People being Killed, Impoverished and Traumatized under that Obnoxious 1999 Constitution.
(5) Whilst reiterating the Postulations and Warnings of the February 25, 2022 NINAS Public Statement, the purpose of this short Statement today is to remind the Senators and Members of the House of Representatives from the Alliance Territories (that is South and Middle-Belt of Nigeria), who will be Voting in the 2022 Constitution -Amendment Charade that the Grouse of the People you claim to Represent will not be about WHETHER or HOW you Vote, but about WHY you partake in a “Constitutional Amendment” Exercise that Reinforce the Hijack and Confiscation of the Sovereignty of the People you claim to represent, by an illicit, Caliphate-Controlled “Federal Government” Presiding over the Extermination and Impoverishment of the same People.
(6) Ahead of the State Assemblies’ Concurrence and Ratification Processes for the current “Constitution Amendment” Circus, and ahead of the doomed 2023 Election Ritual let it be heard loud and clear that Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination insists that in place of Election, the Operators of the Distressed Nigerian Federation must now Initiate a Transitioning Process to undertake the Inevitable Constitutional Reconstruction in Redress of the Grave Constitutional Grievances outlined in the December 16, 2020 Joint Multi-Regional Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation issued by NINAS, particularly in the Five-Point Proposition Regarding Sequence and Modalities
